  3. Focusing the Eyepiece

  6. Turn the eyepiece counterclockwise 
  7. until the circle in the center of the 
  8. field is blurred.  Then turn the 
  9. eyepiece clockwise until the circle 
  10. just comes into sharp focus.  The 
  11. measuring scales are visible in the 
  12. top half of the field and these should 
  13. also be in sharp focus now.

  15. Some models have a lever just below 
  16. the eyepiece which removes the 
  17. scale from view.
